That’s Starbucks’ largest size, for the record. Most of the time, people order glorified milkshakes there, so it’s only half coffee, and half the caffeine. And people usually nurse their coffee milkshakes for an hour or so, too…

  4. By your own admission, the entire case against Ulbricht would’ve likely collapsed had the Feds introduced Carl Force’s fraudulent murder-for-hire claims into court. How did you get through law school without realizing how fatally flawed your entire thesis is here? All the heinous stuff going on in DC right now, and this is how you try to meet the moment? In a civilized society, you’d face sanctions from the Bar for such callous disregard of defendants’ basic rights under the constitution, but luckily for you, you live in the Failed States, where you’ll be free to continue practicing law from a concentration camp in El Salvador as an enemy of the King. See, that’s the nasty thing about abandoning due process and presumption of innocence, isn’t it? It doesn’t stop with some libertarian dork who probably deserved it.

  5. Ulbricht was never convicted of murder for hire. Whatever happened to “innocent until proven guilty?” He was only convicted of being an admin of a website. A whole gang of dirty feds were involved in this case. Carl Force was almost certainly the real DPR, and even if he wasn’t, sentencing Ulbricht as if he was El Chapo was grossly disproportionate. He was a model prisoner. Leave it to this channel to oppose the only good thing to come out of DC in the last six weeks.

  9. Trump is demonstrating how outrageously foolish we have been as a country, to have never done another constitutional convention. The Founders would be horrified to see what fresh hell we have wrought with our ongoing maintenance of the post-civil-war status quo. Under our 18th century constitution, the 21st century administrative state had to be placed under the president, but the modern federal government has created a king in everything but name only. Power comes from the barrel of a gun, and the chaos monkey that’s destroying the government from within controls the world’s biggest guns too. The founders were wise for their time, but ffs, they were slavers who wanted a government so small, it didn’t even have a standing army. They envisioned something akin to the EU, not a singular nation-state superpower. For that matter, our constitution is so ancient, it even predates the modern idea of a nation state. We had a lot of warnings of what a dangerous game we were playing: Nixon, Reagan, and Dubya were tyrants too. Yet we did nothing. Trump isn’t the president we need, but he’s the president we deserve.

  12. I can understand being a lawyer, compartmentalizing your emotions for your client, arguing within the confines of the law. This is the sort of thing a high school debate team can manage! Not a high bar. What I find utterly incomprehensible is these monstrous judges that go out of their way to interpret the law in the way which causes the most harm to everyone. They have a lot of leeway! They’re the villains here.
