  1. I don’t know what to call this thing (wagon? van? blob-hideous crossover?) but it’s definitely not an SUV. It has less ground clearance than a Camry FFS. There’s nothing “sport” or “utility” about this vehicle. It’s a toy for rich nerds that wanted a bastard child between a Volvo and a Porsche.

  4. I know this was a partnership with Toyota, but I really thought subaru was gonna modify it more. All these little “quirks” would drive subaru buyers crazy. Even the form factor is bad. Should’ve made it a wagon and then Doug would have plenty of legroom smh

  5. I don’t like this car at all (and I owned an EV before). But they’ll sell. You act like there’s gonna be enough inventory of 2023s where buyers are gonna have a choice between the Toyota and Subaru versions…

  6. My thoughts exactly. Also a lot of the PMs that made some of the more baffling design decisions will hopefully be fired and let the engineers do their thing. You know engineering wasn’t behind that ridiculous shifter knob, or behind not including a glove box, or any slew of idiotic decisions that put form over function. It’s a Subaru not a damn Tesla.

  7. I wouldn’t sweat it. Your typical subaru buyer is gonna take one look at this thing and go, “oh hell no.” They didn’t even include a shifter ffs. First thing you do on a test drive and you already hate it. Brilliant. They’ll sell these, but it won’t be to existing customers.
