It was the time, with simple but solid and reliable cars. At all it looks not so glamouros, as an US-Car Dealer. But more and more don`t wanted to buy an expensive US-Car with less mileage.. My dad bought is first VW in 1966. It was an used VW bug , dark green, made in 1958 or like that. The tin was very thick and solid. But more weight = less mileage. I bought my first VW bug in 1984. It was made in 1971 and color orange. The car was cheap but very rusty. I had to weld many parts. I needed also two exhaust parts, who were very expensive for me. It was my first car. The big problem was: I had this car for five months only. And then a very drunken car driver crashed in mine. My car was totally broken = impossible to fix it. This was my one and only VW bug. I missed this car from 1984 till now. Whenever I see a VW bug, I must to see it closer. In 1985 I worked also at a VW dealership for as a spare part manager. But i bought an used ex Ambulance car made by Mercedes Benz. But with a diesel engine. Also with beds inside, to make travel tours. These cars were very rare at that time. But i got one.
