  1. There is slight evidence that mass shootings in the USA during the Clinton assault weapons ban of 1994-2004 slightly decreased, as would be intuitively expected. That ban ended in 2004 and efforts to extend it failed. That ban survived Constitutional legal challenges in those times, however with the current overwhelming conservative composition of the SCOTUS another such ban at the current time is very unlikely to survive Constitutional legal challenges. United States Constitutional law is based on the 18th Century rights of Englishmen (which by the way current modern Englishmen and women there no longer possess). These rights are/were "the right to keep and bear arms" so that they might serve and defend King and Country against invasions from the Danes, the French, and the Spanish, traditional enemies of England in the 18th Century. The U.S. Constitution preserves these rights for Americans. Only Americans, Israelis, and Swiss have these rights. No other nation does. And certainly not the English anymore. Q.E.D.
