The young man did everything right up to the point until the female robber got off a shot at him which unlucky for him killed him. He must have hesitated too long to shoot. This is common for untrained civilians unfortunately. This is why police cadets and military recruits must go through extensive months long rigorous training to become conditioned to shoot to kill without hesitation. Hindsight being 20-20 the best thing would have been to have shot her in the face several times without warning. Shooting her in the chest didn't do any good since he missed her heart. As Tuco (Eli Wallace) in The Good The Bad & The Ugly said, If you're gonna shoot them shoot don't talk. Not to make light of the murder but very true. The other issue is caliber. The female robber shot the male defender only once and it killed him. The female robber was shot several times in the chest yet survived. I'm guessing here that the male had a 9x19 Luger whereas the female had a heavier gun like a 38 or 357.

@claytonbigsby7158 nope the little kid had the shotgun. The female robber had some kind of handgun that killed the male victim with one shot. I am guessing 38 Special or 357 mag etc.

Well Hell is a religious concept. Prison is more here and now.

The 2 robbers will be in prison for a long time but they'll eventually get out. Judges are very lenient these days even for a single murder.
