  1. Lily this is a relevant issue for anyone, especially now with war imminent between the USA and mainland China. To preserve my frozen food supply I have an inverter generator and 35 gallons of gasoline. I also have salt for the defrosted meat. So I can preserve my food for about 1 month before I need to salt it. Great question.

  2. I love your stories Lily !!! In my case I always have with me a small flashlight off my mountain bike, a small pocket knife, a small lighter, a clean handkerchief, a 9x19 compact Smith&Wesson M&P 9 Shield Plus, and 1 extra mag of ammo. Of them all the flashlight has gotten used the most and the pocket knife next most. But I never go anywhere without all of them.

  5. I don't agree with Lily about contradicting the attendant and announcing the scope of the outage to the passengers. The passengers would likely panic and this become a further threat. Just tell the attendant that you need to get off the train to pee. Then once off, start hiking and never look back. Take care of yourself for your family's sake. Don't make things worse for yourself by involving any of the others.

  6. Of course an EMP attack from China would cause the same turmoil for motorists as a massive power outage would for electric rail passengers.
