  1. By & large SLC PD is a great dept. Transit police are probably the best in the Valley in my experience. The non transit do have their rogue elements & some incompetence. I can name names. Overall I agree with the SLC PD on this particular issue. There is no excuse for packing a gun in your carry on luggage. There are other ways.
