  1. It seems to me self evident that your definition of "alive" is too complex. It further seems to me that to be considered alive, something must: 1: physically tangibly exist (viruses do); 2: reproduce themselves making more of themselves (viruses do); 3: be subject to destruction aka death (viruses are). This viruses ARE alive. Q.E.D.
