But when protest and riot happened on their own soil, they did the opposite. The called them thugs and beat the protesters. They passed a law forbidding the sales of tear gas to HK saying tear gas should not be used. But guess what, they used tear gas and rubber bullet to clear the square so Trump can have a photo op. He asked China not to send in PLA. But he sent in the National guards. Seattle banned the use of tear gas and leave the protesters alone. Seattle mayor even joined the protest. Trump threatened WA. He said if the governor does not put a stop to it, he will send in the troops. That's the hypocrisy he is talking about. It is not only Trump, it is Pompeo, Cruz, Rubio, and Tom cotton. Barr is trying to distant himself but he ordered the troops.

  7. This is so typical of a bias press. They did not tell the whole story. While they quoted Forster, they did not disclose the entire story. Forster (Cambridge ) study showed there were 3 major strain of the virus. Type A was the original and it's found in US/Australia, Type B mutated from Type A is in E. Asia and type C (mutated from B) is in Europe. New data also shown person 0 in US is not the guy in Washington. The autopsy of two people died in Santa Clara was 3 weeks earlier and they were found to be infected with COVID. They did not go to China or were in contact with anyone that did. Stanford study showed 45,000 to 85,000 people might have been infected in Santa Clara County. Another study showed 1/5 of the New Yorkers might have been infected. The scientists estimated this will bring the mortality rate down to 0.5%. But these study did not show the number of death that was misdiagnosed as flu that could be COVID. The only conclusion all these studies showed is COVID did not originated from Wuhan.

  22. That's the problem. Are you looking for evidence or origin? Evidence is to set blame. Origin is to find out how the virus evolved, Wuhan's virus is only second generation. First generation was found in US and S. China.

  23.  @lungeranon7645  The problem with US healthcare is not quality. The problem is "for profit". People were turned away from the hospital and died. The hospital were also ran by JIT operation which means no inventory and no in house doctors. So when the virus hit and there is a resource shortage, the patients are not getting adequate care. With massive layoff, many lost their insurance and will faced bankrupt or died without care. Furthermore insurance companies like United Healthcare reduced their reimbursement rate by 50% and forced many of the doctors to be off their network. So even if you have insurance, that insurance might be invalid. I suspect the high mortality rate is caused partly because of lack of care or resource..

US will have to give up a bunch of islands including Baker Islands where there is an air force base as well as the famous Midway Islands. These are all acquired with the 1854 Guano Act.. The reason why China did not participate is because China and Philippines have existing treaty to settle border dispute. And they have settled already on fishing right. But Taiwan was not invited and their legal brief was also disregarded. And they are the original claim party. Regardless, the court also did not consider the Japanese surrender treaty that returned the islands to China, at the time was ROC.

The islands were returned to China after WW2 by Japan under MacArthur's supervision. Last tome I check MacArthur is not a CCP member. Never mind the historical claim. Here are the treaties; 1887 Sino Franco Treaty. 1948 Japan surrender treaty. The Cairo accord with Stalin, Roosevelt, Churchill and DeGaulle.

In 1887 Sino Franco treaty, France colonized Indochina and have a border treaty that clearly defined the islands as Chinese territory. At the time Vietnam was a Chinese province. And China has troop stationed on those islands. France later annexed those islands and that's the basis of the Vietnamese claim. During WW2 Jpan occupied those islands. After WW2 the Sino Japan peace treaty returned the islands back to China under MacArthur. This is very clear. The Hague court decided none of these islands are islands because they are not self sustaining. This have nothing to do with history or legal principle. They basically ignored all historical claim because nobody can own a rock. Under the same ruling, US will have to give up ALL the islands they acquired with the Guano Act. These will include Baker Islands which has a US air force base and Midway Islands because none of them has fresh water or food grown there. Baker Islands don't even have any vegetation. UNCLOS applied to non inhabited and international water only. By declaring the islands as rocks, the rule applied. But Taiwan has stationed troops on the islands since 1948, there is a well, a farm and hospital on the island so how can they be a rock? Taiwan has invited Hague court to visit. But they refused because Taiwan is not a member of UN. France had also built two weather stations on those islands as well. Bottom line the Hague decision is bogus. It is basically saying hey it is free for all.

If not why would the French had a treaty with the Qing dynasty on these island. Why would Roosevelt, Stalin, Churchill and DeGualle agreed in Cairo these are Chinese Territory. Why would MacArthur agreed to return these lands back to China in the Sino Japan Peace Treaty? Check the document. During Qing Dynasty, assigned these Islands to be under the jurisdiction of the Hainan Province. They won't even pay the fee US is requesting for stationing troops in Korea and US is withdrawing troops from Korea. And same with Japan and their constitution forbids them to go to war. They won't even allow US to build a missle base in Japan. Philippines economy relied on China too much to go to war. Taiwan maybe, but 2/3 of the population want status quo. The US South China Sea position is against their interest because it was Taiwan that originated the 9 dash line. Did Taiwan support US on its position? No way. If they do Tsai will be impeached.
