@kwamepalavin8405 Because Hong Kong Law is still based on Britsh common law. And if there is an interpretation issue, English version takes precedent.

@gadgetgasspoll No, independent means you are independent of political influence. Hong Kong still uses British Law. A lot of the rioters are trialed by British Law. Hong Kong never rewrote their law.

How so? Which acse did they try that is a "kangerroo court"? Care to cite one?

@jeeed505 Have you talked to a Hong Konger in Cantonese? Or why would you oppose teaching Mandarin in school but support instruction in school with English only?

@BootneckAlphaKilo You are not from Hong Kong are you? There is NO democratic British law in Hong Kong. You should review all the sentencing. Most sentence handed down for rioting are SUSPENDED for first time offense. Even Joshua Wong's sentence was suspended until he violate his probation.

@BootneckAlphaKilo I have just check. HK still has 8 foreign judges. 4 made commitment not to leave. The other issue is their age. It appeared HK recruited retired judges cuz their age range from 71 to 90. Personally I think they are too old.
