No, bad news for HKers. The sanction is on HK not China. But it will also hurt all the US financial institute like Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs is very influential, so I think this largely symbolic.

@nesbyalexander2062 Oh man you're so dumb. The Australian PM when asked about this, he said each country has the right to handle their own riot. Imagine if other countries want to interfere in the DAP protest or the Waco siege, how would US react.

You mean back to the colonial rule?

@wintonyoung3201 We have a electoral college for president. Not direct election. There was a case in 2016 one of the Democratic elector vote for Trump instead of Hillary. The court recently ruled it is legal. So, no we do not have universal suffrage.

@raphaelshan4905 No, she is simply incompetent.

The more relevant thing is to sanction US for voter suppression and gerrymandering.

@StephenMortimer I am not from Boston so I can pronounced R. Howevfer, you sir needs to stop being an idiot. If mainlanders are supporting this riot, they would not fight each other. The rioter are not for democracy and freedom for the mainlander. Why did they beat the two guys at the air port because they thought they are mainlander. They beat up a Japanese tourist because he can't speak Cantonese and they thought they are mainlander. No the mainlander feared the rioter "democracy" more than mainlander

@StephenMortimer Sure, why not. I just hope it is not a war. But what about the DPP?

@Five050 Please check Trump's phase 1 trad deal with China. It is exactly the opposite. Money, man money.

Also look at the Dakota Access Pipeline protest. That is real anti-democracy and violate its promise to the native Indians. That is really shameful.

First Name Last Name It is war dude and a long time ago. If you want to go that far back, 20 millions Chinese were killed by Japanese. US almost killed all the native Americans. And more recently 200K Iraqi civilians were killed by US forces. War has casualty unfortunately

This exactly the reason why Rubio put this bill on a fast track. He is trying to pretend this did not happen. It is too late tho.

What the F are you talking about? People don't have to go to China if they don't feel safe. How is that going to work any way? They are doing immigration work and law enforcement?
1
@MrPieman00 But once in China you still have the same issue. They can check you after the check point. During the height of terrorism, there was an ASEAN event in Shanghai, there were check point everywhere even at the hotel. Every time I go out for a smoke, I have to be checked again.

This bill is not about freedom. If it is there should be also be a universal suffrage for US. Where is the freedom for US?
1
@wintonyoung3201 Same as HK. There is universal suufrage for all election except CE.
