It's a nothing burger just election tactic to pick a fight with China. Trump also flew war planes within 20Km of Shanghai. THey will abandon Taiwan like they abandon Kurds, BTW, official visit to Taiwan is a violation of the One China Policy. I tnink they are going to bomb Scarborogh Shoal next.

@DZ477 Are you saying they did not promise the Kurds security? Their relationship are different, Kurds is the ground force for US against Iraq and ISSI. And Taiwan? What did they do to help US? Hmm... NOTHING!
2
@zilun So you are suggest China should exercise their right and attack Taiwan? Tsai Eng Wen is a US lapdog any way. Taiwan officially rejected the Hague Court ruling. They have troops stationed in Taipan. And yet she has no comment on US's support of Hague ruling and yet welcome Azar. How pathetic. I remembered days when Taiwan people used to protest about South China Sea and DiaoYu. SAD.

Idiot. If US can do it, they decouple already. Instead , they are negotiating with China to do more direct investing. You think US is ready to ask everybody to pull out of China? 60% of US semiconductor are sold to China, 50% of GM. Sands is making $1.2B per months, then we have KFC,Pizza Hut etc, etc. Everybody is ready to move out? Money talks and BS walks.

Randy Moss Trump care about Taiwan like the Kurds. Dude he is just trolling China and hope for a war. So he can get elected. It is not like Taiwanese scientist are smarter than Americans.
1
No, Trump Org got a $500M loan from China to build a golf course in Indonesia, They might recall the loan, And Trump had bankrupted 5 times and has no credit.

The Taiwan people don't want to. Please google the 2018 referendum on the Olympic team.
1
@jonathanmao3911 This is the people's vote. They want to be Taipei, China NOT Taiwan. The Olympic rule is they can't be called ROC. The people had spoken no amount of spinning is going to change the facts. During the vote, everybody know it is a trail balloon for independence. And it FAILED.

@jonathanmao3911 https://apnews.com/2f9c237146b8454bb2a2bcd74936f698 Votes don't lie. People identified themselves as Cantonese, Shanghaiese, reginally all the time. Please showed me a poll of Taiwan INDEPENDENCE. Everybody wants status quo. So there are plenty of polls against independence and reunification. But let's see the actual vote. 55 to 45.
1
@jonathanmao3911 Here's the poll on Independence from last year Only 27% support Independence. https://focustaiwan.tw/cross-strait/201910260005
1
@jonathanmao3911 You did not read the article, did you. Only 27% support independence, and only 1.4% support unification with China now and 8.9% later. 289 percent status quo forever and 31% status quo now and reunification later depends on political change later. Looks like you're the one small headed. I only give the facts and you can't handle the truth.
1
@jonathanmao3911 I did not say anything. I am just quoting the poll. You want to ignore the truth. It is up to you. The bottom line on all the polls, Taiwanese do not support independence. They support status quo. You can spin it any way you like but facts are facts.
1
@jonathanmao3911 That's the Olympic team. It is actually Chinese Taipei. Taiwanese voted for that didn't they? That is a fact.
1
I don't think so. The 2018 referendum on changing the name of the Olympic team failed. If you can't even rename the team to "Taiwan", hpw are you going to declare independence. Furthermore, a 2019 poll by Taipei times 60% of the people over 30 DONOT support independence.
1
@zilun This is the stupidest argument. CCP is the representative of China. Taiwan also claimed to be representative of China. Taiwan is part od China as stated in the Taiwan constitution. Your logic is flawed. By the same logic DPP was formed after the constitution and therefore never part of China so they should not be ruling in the Republic of CHINA.
1
Please study your history. Taiwan was ruled by Ming and Qing dynasty. When Qing took over, just like KMT, the Ming Dynasty also exiled to Taiwan until Qing conquered Taiwan. In 2018, Taiwan floated a test balloon . They tried to rename the Taiwan Olympic team from Taipei, China to Taiwan. The referendum failed by a land slide. People don't even want to change the Team's name. How will they feel about independence. The poll showed 2/3 of the people are against independence. To be fair , 2/3 of the people do not want to be ruled by China either. They want status quo.
1
@exxodas You want to ignore history. It is up to you. But don't make up ship. Ming and Qing never borrow from anybody, Taiwanese have been under Chinese rules for centuries. Even the Taiwanese constitution said it is part of China. You can be ignorant but you can't make up history.

He is looking for Biden dirt.

Dali Lama does not want Tibet to be independent. Taiwanese people do not want to be independent, And HK people don't want to be independent. Why do you want to force them?
1
@truenorthstrongandfree3699 Go check Dali Lama's web site. It stated in the first page Dali Lam does not support independence. Apoll done in Taiwan 60% do not want independence. In 2019, Taiwan floated a trial balloon referendum to change the Olympic team name to Taiwan instead of Taipei, China. It failed. HKU did a poll last year, only 13% of the people in HK want independence. Don't take my word for it , google it.
1
@truenorthstrongandfree3699 I know you probably do not read real news. For your reference: HK from the Wikipedia: "According to a survey conducted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in July 2016, nearly 40% of Hongkongers aged 15 to 24 supported the territory becoming an independent country, whereas 17.4% of the overall respondents supported independence, despite only 3.6% stating that they think it is "possible". 69.6% of respondents supported maintaining 'One Country, Two Systems'. Slightly over 13% of respondents supported direct governance by China Tibet, From Fox News direct from his mouth. Dalai Lam has spoken https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_ZDoNSPpaw Taiwan. From the AP https://apnews.com/2f9c237146b8454bb2a2bcd74936f698 Any question, kid?
