@Wonghae23 Please explain how China controls the majority. My understanding is there are two constituency, one by geography and one by profession. They are both voted by the people . The pan-dem (a coalition) had a small majority in the geographical and pro gov has a majority in the professional. So what's the scoop? And from what I read HK actually has 30 or 40 parties with a weird election system that you can win with just 10% of the votes. I still don't get that.

@Wonghae23 Then why is Josh Wong running, if he knew he has no chance in winning? Are the pan-dem also selected by China. In US, republican would draw the district line to favor them. In HK, every district has 7 representatives so it is impossible to gerrymander. Judging from your answer is that you don't know and just speculating. Or you are confused between the CE election withe the general election. I also have question on the CE election but I don't think you have the answer tho.

@hiddenmelodies9282 Does that makes it okay? What if the pro-gov protesters decided to destroy their school or where they work.

@Wonghae23 Democracy are different in different country. Boris Johnson is not elected, so is UK no longer a democracy? Netanyahu get 25% of the votes, but he is selected by the president of Israel to be prime minister. Trump lost by 3 millions votes, So are these democratic countries. Hong Kong has a electoral college (agreed to by UK) just like the US system. So by every measure HK is democratic. The selection of the CE candidate was proposed in 2014 and I thought it was shelf. So I do not think that is the measure of democracy. I believed democracy is a competition of idea and protection of the right of the minority. By this measure, you can claim China, Russia and Saudi are not democratic. But what the rioters do is no different, suppression of opposite views, destruction of properties. So like in animal farm, I do not see any difference in both camp. At least HK goverment is not shutting any opposite view newspaper,
