  1. The issue is how the election works. There are more political parties in the pan-democratic camp, It has advantage and disadvantage. One of the disadvantage is they compete for the same votes. The primary is to solve this problem. However, they are also manipulating the vote by coordination. That is not exactly democratic. They should just merge into a single party. But money and ego are in the way. Welcome to democracy.

  3.  @wlsn77  This has nothing to do with free speech. They are arrested for election violation. A primary is essentially an attempt to manipulate vote and that is not exactly democratic either.
