@NookDeSus You do realize China has 55 different ethnicity. The five star on the Chinese represents 5 major ethnicity in China; Han, Manchurian, Mongolian, Hui (Muslims) and Tibetan. China is far from monolithic.

It is not a discrimination problem. It is a profiling and ignorance problem. The African said it in the video; "It was different than before". Discrimination does not appear all of a sudden. Racist does not transform overnight. This will all pass after Covid. A few weeks ago, Hubei opened up but the neighboring province did not. It ended up the police on both side are fighting each other. The tension is high and people are scared. I know there are racist but not against African people.

@just_shaeee Instead of making accusation, can you provide link and evidence. This will make the discussion more civil and logical instead of just emotional accusation. Personally, I don't see it. The African American in our community never complained about it. Even the guy in the video said it was different than before. Meaning there was no racism before?

You are aware that if an infected patient walk into a restaurant, the whole place would be shut down and everybody will be quarantined too. People do not want to take the risk. BTW, I don't believed they are evicted because of corona. Because if you put a corona patient out on the street he will infect more people. I saw another video. The Nigerian interviewed said he was locked inside his house. That makes more sense.

@subestro No I don't get it. You are saying your roommate was kicked out. how does that work? Don't you have a lease? Who signed the lease? They can't just kick him out and not you. Unless he is not a legal tenant. That is not legal. And if that is the case you should sue them. And if you were banned from the mall. Then it's not about racism. It is the fear of the virus. I am not saying it is right. But there is no institutional racism. You can't blame the government for people's stupidity. Compared to US, this is like nothing. Black people was shot by the police holding a cell phone. Cop said they thought it's a gun. A kid was shot by the police because he had a toy gun. A woman called the cop complaining a 10 years old black girl was selling lemonade on the street. There are much more examples of that. TRump himself was fined for discriminating black people for refusing to rent to them. The guy in the video also said Chinese people are not racist. I think they are just ignorant. Racism does exist. My dad is a racist, but not against black people. It is more against the Brits and the Japanese because he was tortured by them in WWII.

@Chronomatrix There were 5 Nigerians that were tested positive. Anyone that that come in contact have to be quarantined. This is common in ALL countries. With the exception most country do self quarantine and China does forced quarantine.

If you come in contact with a person tht tested positive you will be quarantined for 14 days. 5 Nigerians were tested positive. The restaurant they frequented was shut down. I think they are a little scared of being quarantined themselves.

stephen kroll You must be an idiot. Please be specificwhat did they hide. Dec 31 they announced the virus, Jan 3 they informed US, Jan 9 they identified the virus, Jan 22 they shut down Wuhan. Of course they are going to buy as much PPE as possible like any responsible government. US is now taking the SAME action including the DPA except they are two months too late.

Actually I questioned this part. I don't live in China so I don't know. In US, the door cannot be locked from the outside. There is report from Wuhan that said they welded the door shut for quarantine. So that might be SOP.

@balmofgilead7476 Now that is a lie and you know it. China reported the outbreak on Dec.31. They disclosed the genome of the virus on Jan 11. Germany used the sample and data to produce the test kit on Jan 17 and Korea followed on Jan 20. So how did they lie? If they lied how did Germany and Korea produce the test? The virus actually was now proved not originated in Wuhan. Cambridge has published a report. They found there are three strains of virus. The one in Wuhan is second generation and first generation is in US. The origin of the virus had not been determine. So calling the virus Wuhan virus is racist. This is why the ENTIRE world is against Trump.

There are several hundred nigerians living there. Why aren't they all on the street? Please answer the question. if you response. Some Africans are evicted (I want to know why other than blaming on racism) 4. foreigners (black and white) are denied mall access and restaurant access 5. There are forced testing and quarantine (main complaint of the African Union) 6. There was no racism prior to COVID 7. This is only happening in Guangzhou. Please add if I missed anything. Are there additional facts? Number 6 is important. I want to understand but not based on opinion or rumor. There is more thing I don't understand maybe you can help me. The guy said he was locked from the outside. How? Is door constructed that way in China? Usually, you can open from the inside without a key.

@Ultimatebittertruth DUDE, please read the recent Cambridge University report. The virus from Wuhan did not originate from Wuhan. The virus from Wuhan is second generation. Most of the virus in US are first generation.

@Hairymuffin2010 True. Historically there is very little mobility. But time has changed due to economy. I don't have the exact number and I am too lazy to look it up. There are approximately 8M Tibetans in China and only 3M lived in Tibet. A lot of the minority are migrating into the mainland.

@admin5-valentino216 What's your point? Are you debating the word "monolithic"? Manchurian ruled China for almost 300 years. And Han-Chinese adopted their custom while Manchurian adopted Han language, art culture and religions. From that aspect, you may called it monolithic.
