John Doe is not talking about China. He is talking about Hong Kong. One country two systems. Looks like you can't comprehend the difference. Let me be plain HK has a different political system than china. It has its own currency, its own law, free election, and OPPOSITION parties in the legislature. And no political prisoner

@eddiehui38 Xinjiang has been chinese territory for 3000 years since the Han dynasty. Uighur are not even majority in XinJiang and majority musilm by a nose are the Huis. I am not disputing China's action in Xinjiang. I am just presenting the facts. HI on the hand was stolen from the royal family in HI. Bill Clinton apologized for it in the 90s. Alaska was purchased but land were stolen from the native just like the Hawaiian. I don't know about the Uighur situation. But some have joined ISSI. US has arrested 21 of them jn Afghanistan and locked them up in Guantanamo Bay. So I am not sure those locked up in China are terrorist or not. China probably overplayed their hand. But Israel also locked up thousands of Palestinians , but US has failed to condemn that (UN did). So if you are going to condemn China you need to condemn Israel too,

@bluestargroupinc Better get new history book that goes back to 800BC. Xinjiang was known as the Western Territory during the Han dynasty. The Han emperor defeated the barbarian in the region and took over the territory It is also the ancient Silk Road. Hui a muslim minority are the descendant of the Arabic traders and Chinese from that era. Remember the Monkey King, that was the Tang dynasty. It was a novel. But Tang dynasty established governorship in "Western Region" near today's Tarim. Xinjiang (new territory) was named after the qing dynasty took over.

@eddiehui38 You are talking about the Uighur. They are nomadic people from Turkic. They are a minority in Xinjiang. They are closer to Turks than Han. Xinjiang has many ethnic minorities including Hui another Muslim minority. The fact that few of them speak Chinese created economic hardship for them. while other minority group are prospering , they are not. So ISSi influence was large and they performed many terrorist acts, over 300. So what do you do in that situation? I don't know. what would you do? Can't leave them alone because there are terrorist among them. And majority of the people in Xinjiang are NOT Uigher, so there are also natural discrimination. It's a tough complex issue..

@bluestargroupinc Please check your book again. Han dynasty was in and out of XinJiang because of civil war. They were still in Xinjiang in 150AD. Then there was Tang dynasty,also establish protectorate AnXi in XinJiang and of course there is also the Yun dynasty. How long do you need to occupy a land to establish a claim? So how long have the Uigher ruled Xinjiang? From your smart brain, US do not have right over america because it has only been 300 years. Israel definitely does not belong in Palestine. And if you don't base your claim om historical claim, what is your basis. Military might? See historically, you make a claim by planting a flag. Yes if my ancestor peed on it, we have a right to claim it unless your ancestor also peed on it.
