  1.  @TheBooban  This video is missing half the story. Broadcom wants to buy Intel's chip business but do not want the money losing fab. Nobogy in US want it either, So US wants TSMC to take over the money losing portion of Intel. TSMC is a public company. Share holders ( mostly Americans) will not allow for it.

  23.  @cala9765  Chinese EV is selling for $15K in China. US EV are $40K. They do not need to drop their price. US just have artificially higher prices. How much are you paying for your phone services? Chinese are paying 25% of what are paying. The secret, China is a true captalistic economy with lots of compettition. US is a monopolistic social corporate welfare economy.

  24.  @Nik-ik8mv  Not really. Micron 30% of sales go to Huawei. Huawei is now buying from Samsung. China will still be getting some chips from other sources. Long term will be a bigger problem. What US is doing is to force China to produce chips locally. This could cause US to lose market share permanently. Also the hegemony is causing Korean and Japanese to consider sources outside US. The most severe problem is disallowing US citizen to work in China. I do not believe it's constitutional. Many of these engineers will likely denounce their citizenship to make a living. At a time that US needs semiconductor talent, they just close a source of talent pool.

  25. Yes I think the domestic consumption is 53%. But it is still bad. The question I have is what if China decided to only ship polysilicon to only manufacturer that will sell them chips?

  29. This is total misinformation. China does not make chips for US, Taiwan does. AND we are giving TSMC subsidy. On the other hand, China does produce 80% of raw silicon and this bill does not do anything for that.

  32. The CHIP is a pork bill. We still don't know how they are going to spend the money. We tried this in the 80s against Japan and it was a disaster.
