You are missing the point. Tiktok is about $250B in valuation and can get $800B IPO. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to get it for 40B? Why do you think congress is pushing a sale that only congress can apprive. Softbank will not be able yo buy it, but they are an ally. It is about money, Check out the article 2022 in Washinton Post about Trageted Victory, a company Suckerberg set up to defame Tiktok.

@robynnordstrom7799 This bill can ban anything. Wikileaks will be next , and then Rumble. As long as the president considered you as an adversary. Joe can ban Trump on any media, his wife is not a native and he can be classify as adversarial. This bill also ban VPN. Personally I don't think it will pass consitution test. And you also have an atainment right issue. You cannot just classify people as adversary without evidence (legally). You can say it cuz of free spech but not act on it.

You fell into Suckerberg's misinformatio. China does not own Tiktok. Read the bill it does not say own it say control. Tiktok is owned by Jeff Yaz, Blackrock, UAE, Qater and a bunch of investers. Regardless, Tiktok is moving to Singapore, So now it is moving to Singapore and is a Singapore company. Problem solved? Not for Suckerberg. I don't think Senate will pick up the bill. They don't want to vote against the bill cuz it make them look pro China. But they don't want to vote for the bill because they will lose donation from Club for growth and the Koch brothers. Election year you know.
