What would make China democratic? If election is not the deciding factor, what is universal suffrage gonna do for democracy in HK? FYI, HK is rated number in economic freedom by the UN. Democracy is too abstract. Perhaps democracy is really related to how people feel about their future. The "so called "democratic" countries usually have higher GDP per capita. It is really a perception. We living in the US felt we are losing our right too since Trump became president.

Number of test in CA about 40K. Overall Korea's test rate is 6 times US's test rate. But the number are not really relevant. It is the availability. People still can'y get tested.

  25. Only in China the government will show up at the door to force you to the hospital if you are sick. In the US, when cops showed up to evacuate people from natural disaster and many actually refused to leave. When they get stuck in the storm/flood first responders have to risk their life to save them. So one is a nanny state and the other is the spoiled brat state. Why can't people have more sense? You are not only risking your own life, you are risking other people's life.
