There are a lot of Chinese being persecuted in US. They don't care where you're from. Mainland Chinese, Taiwanese, ABC, they are being sued simply because they're Chinese and they draed to make contact with China. HKers are not smart enough to be on that list of scientist.

She just proved she is totally misinformed and conned. The extradition bull is not what she think it is. To be extradited, you first need to commit a crime in China. Then, China will have to provide evidence of the crime to the court. The crime must belongs to one of the categories of crime permitted for extradition. White collar crime, speech, religion, political crimes are exempted. So Journalists cannot be extradited for free speech. There is also double criminality. If you are accused of violating national security law, you cannot be extradited because HK has no such law. The kid needs to study more so she will not be used as a political pawn. This person is also bigoted. Identity is individual by nature. No two persons are the same. What is the HK identity you're talking about? Is that why the kids are using Pepe, the symbol for white supremacy? Being Chinese is just ethnic, it has nothing to do the personal belief or culture. China has 56 different ethic groups and none of the them is the same.

@fridge6668 There is no USSR any more. It is Russia. You bring up an interesting point. Does election mean democracy and what is democracy? US has similar election as HK. Trump was NOT elected by a majority. In NH, voters voted for Medicaid expansion (Americans can vote on policy), however the governor refused to implement the law. Is that democracy? Netanyahu won only 26% of the votes and became prime minister. Boris Johnson was never elected. So election probably does not define democracy. So what is democracy? I have my opinion. What is yours?

@fridge6668 If you have a FREE election toady. Xi would probably win. He lifted 700M people out of poverty, and he is very popular in China right now. Is that democratic? What would make China democratic? If election is not the deciding factor, what is universal suffrage gonna do for democracy in HK? FYI, HK is rated number in economic freedom by the UN. Democracy is too abstract. Perhaps democracy is really related to how people feel about their future. The "so called "democratic" countries usually have higher GDP per capita. It is really a perception. We living in the US felt we are losing our right too since Trump became president.

You can have adifference of opinion but not a difference of facts. She got the facts all wrong. But she is also bigoted. So the lesson might not stick.

@fridge6668 No, I get my facts on the extradition bill from the debate sponsored by the FCC Foreign Correspondents' Club. Here's the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GXJVjC2M-8 I do get my information from multi-sources. That's the only way to get to the truth. You'll need to be open minded. Not everything you heard on Apple daily is true.

Mis informed youth. She should actually read the bill .
