  11. You might also ask how is US going to survive the trade war inflicted wound. Semiconductor is in a free fall. The Chip act is not working. Huawei build their 5G chip despite US sanction. Look at Russia they are doing quite well even with US currency sanction. Who is not doing well? Europe . They are now paying the 4X price for natural gas because of US sanction of Russia.

  12. They have different strategy. US forces are mostly offensive but they will not be sending troops on the ground. The last few wars they usedthe locals. China is more defensive. Their strength is in the mid range antiship missle and carrier killer. Their range can be as high as 4000Km. The goal is to stop US carriers from crossing the Pacific. So in theory China posed no danger to US unless it is a nuclear war.

  16.  @smithjohn7855  Please Google ICA. ICA is NOT a court. It is an arbitration firm. UNCLOS did NOT take up the case and has no juridiction over sovernty of the islands. China claimed the Islands NOT the sea. Why is there still fishing and shipping across the sea. I think first thing you need to do is read UNCLOS. UNCLOS does not say who own what or historic right. If you cannot cite ANY article China violated, then we have NO more discussion.

Again China calimed sovernty of the Spratley Islands, so for sure they can drill right there. THE NINE DASH LINE is to cover all the islands. If China claimed the water there will be NO shipping in the area. Just show me the Sino Franco treaty did not happen in 1895, and then you will be right.

  33. This will not be solved politically. Chinese and Taiwanese are too ingrained with their ideology. Here is a interesting observatio, I have seen people proclaiming they are Singapore Chinese or American Chinese and proud of their Chinese heritage. But not in Taiwan. Political influence?
