They need 3000 engineers with university degree in semiconductors. Then they will have to be trained to run the operatioon.

There might not be any jobs if US does not waive some of the demand like 75% profit sharing and sharing of trade secret. Plus a lot of the people they hired quit after training.

@Mdebacle But Americans are not willing to pay premium for American goods. And the China is not a threat, they have no semiconductor technology. We made them a threat. Gelsinger said Intel does not need to build another fab without the Chinese market. Their new fab plan is now on hold.

@matthewcoreyhall In theory . you are correct. But US has a counter strategy. The China initiative. They were supposed to catch spys that are stealing IP. They indicted 400 scientist, prosecute about 30 and convicted none. Results 4000 scientists moved back to China. They included top AI and quantum computer expert. The program was stopped but damage is done. 62% of the scientists are leaning towards moving to China. Good job Biden.

The semiconductor industry in Taiwan is already complaining there is not enough talent in Taiwan. Main reason, they moved to China for better opportunity
