  5. I have the same question. I am not a lawyer so please correct me if I make a mistake. There are two parts to the charges; sedition and collusion. Sedition is charged under a British colonial law (they are still using) commonwealth law and precedent). So it is not retroactive and is valid. The collusion is under the NEW national security law. I cannot find the collusion date yet. There is another issue. The arrest is 4 days after the stature of limitation of the first offense. The judge decided since violation continued, the clock restart every time there is a new violation. Lai also have Tim Owen from UK as defense. So I beleive he has competent representation.
