  2. It is really bigotry. Taiwanese looked at mainland Chinese as poor and country punkim cus they have a higher per capita GDP. Funny part is Hong Konger looked at Taiwanese and mainland Chinese the same way, poor and unsophisticated and dirty. It is not a culture thing. All three regions celebrate the same gods, festival and traditions. You will have to watch some of these interviews of the youth vs older folks.

  6.  @spafon7799  A reality really. It is really up to China. It is an emotional issue for them. For Taiwan it is more a power issue. The other problem for practical perpurse, the ROC constitution does not allow for two countries. It would require 75% of the votes to change it.
