  1. I would not spend a lot of money in a house since the wife owns it fully in her name. Be very careful making sure you trust your wife fully when buying, building a home, property or purchase land. Make sure to create a separate joint account away from your main bank account. You may even want prenup for marriage in some cases. I was lucky that my wife already own her house before marriage. Kind of nice to have a debt free home without rent or a monthly mortgage. You can buy condo's in your name and even some cases can lease land up to 99 years in Thailand. They are ways you can bend the rules at your own risk but I don't recommend it. I use the extra money you save to visit different provinces and sounding countries for a cheaper price. I live a debt free life other than basic needs. I will be turning 51 this year saving more money than I spend monthly. I will splurge more in my golden years when I am old wrinkly old fart. The main goal is to have peace of mind while living overseas for a lower cost. Everyone's lifestyle will different by their life choices they make. Just be smart in your decisions and stay safe by not putting all your eggs in one basket. Never burn all your bridges being stuck with limited options having no way out.
