  2. I’ll comment…. As a local, i can tell you, the local chicago news reports most, if not all the shootings that take place in chicago over any given weekend, and day, for that matter… Yes, you won’t hear about these shootings/killings occuring in “the ‘hood” if you don’t live around here, nor will i hear about the typical shootings/killings in the ‘hood of other cities….. I can bet 50 bucks most of these types of shootings, but definitely not all, are committed by, and towards, gangbangers/drug dealers/general POS individuals et al………….. And quite frankly, i can give a rats-ass about these bad actors killing each other…..but yeah, it sucks when there’s collateral damage like the 24 Y.O woman bystander who was killed. That’s the real tragedy in these events….and believe you me, the local news makes a big deal about these types of murders….. But when you talk about a SINGLE loser like the guy in highland park creating the carnage that he did all in one event, then yeah, you’re gonna hear about it…just like in uvalde, buffalo, las vegas, parkland, virginia tech, milwaukee, sandy hook and as far back as columbine….. Since columbine, mass shootings by loner/loser young men/teens has been a thing due to the shock value and notariety they create…. Having said that, are we not supposed to report these events?? One final note… For the record, while highland park is an affluent, mostly white suburb, with a large jewish population, there’s a sizeable hispanic community nearby and were well represented at that parade…. Two of the 7 murder victims were elderly hispanic men…and 4 were jewish, and one 2 year old jewish boy is now an orphan because both his parents were killed…. And another 8 year old boy is paralyzed from the waist down because his spinal cord was severed…. THAT’s why you hear about this event more than the gangbangers killing each other on a daily basis………….
