Romans 6:23(the word “death” in this verse means eternal separation, from God in hell). Realize that you are a hopeless sinner and tell Jesus that you trust Him and only Him to save you from hell. The moment you trust in Jesus and only Jesus, you are saved. After people get saved , God wants them to get baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
