Wth is macron talking about? 😂 this guy's a joke No one is asking Macron to blindly follow America. But we share common interests. You have to be willing to bakc that up. @succatash that historical narrative has already been debunked my friend. France was already facing a massive debt crisis well before 1776 as a result of inefficient regressive tax policies. At most, American ideas about liberty had an influence on the rhetoric. That's all. It was a contributing factor to why the monarchy collapsed, not the main one itself The point is the material expenditure and physical sacrifices American made to French freedom TWICE far eclipses anything France has given in return. Additionally, whatever benifit the US gained from after the wars didn't come from helping France alone, so that point is mute
