Or the subsequent moves the made to outflank Ukrainian forces west and east of Kiev? They obviously thought their forces were sufficient to take Kiev even after facing heavy resistance so what more do you want? Acknowledge ut was a Russian failure on many levels and let's move on. This was a year ago for God's sake. Why are we still debating this?

But saying it was a total disaster that exposes your bias. They had alot of minor successes, so it was clearly not a total disaster. Save the Russian propaganda for the duran channel The western equipment weren't game changers, but they helped immensely, so you can downplay it if it makes you feel better, but the reality on the ground tells us the equipment was huge in terms of survivability from mines. The casualties would have been worse without them Russia needed to prove it could conduct modern combined arms warfare if they were serious about challenging NATO. They failed miserably. So all these buzz words such as bakhmut, zaporozhia power plant etc, won't mean anything when challenging NATO. It's a whole different ball game. And considering Russia's latest struggles, it's a game they are woefully unprepared for But to be fair, it seems so are many NATO countries as of now
