He failed. Russia failed. Now ppl like you are trying to shift the goalpost on what the objectives now are to hide Russian incompetence and failure Now, why should ukraine recognise crimean and donbas independence? Because Russia said so? If Russia was so concerned in regards to their self determination, then why send troops into crimea? Why send troops AND weapons into the donbas? That doesn't make sense. Why not go to the UN and bring awareness to have referendums in these regions? Why not go to the EU?Why conspire with sepratists MONTHS before Yanukovych was impeached? Why do everything under the table? Have you actually taken the time to think about this instead of always using these same talking points? Have you bothered to educated yourself on geopolitics and diplomacy? Russia had legitimate options if that was actually their concern. The problem is they weren't interested in those options. And they weren't interested because they have been using that as an excuse this whole time. And you're too proud to admit you bought into a lie Any subsequent agreement was made in bad faith from both Russia and Ukraine. Stop playing victim already. Ukraine needed time to reorganise their army and take back territory the sepratists had taken over with Russia' help. Its especially important because not only was Russia sending weapons and mercenaries into the donbas, they were fireing rockets from Russian TERRITORY. There actual proof of all of this, whether you want to believe it or not. Russia was fueling this war from 2014, yet now want to use these lame excuses to justify war. And you believe this dumb*ss reasoning Finally, you also continue to shamelessly engage in this nuland phone call narritive. As if that's an excuse 😂. There has been decades of research of Russian interference in Ukranian politics since the 90s that FAR outstrip anything the US has engaged in in Ukraine, even including this phonecall. That's a historical fact. Like it or not. Let it go already. Russia cant use the excuse of security to justify dictating a neighbours foriegn policy. And it definitely doesn't justify war. If that's the case, why not have the same attitude towards Finland? Or what about laws made against Russians in Latvia? The answer is simple. Putin and Russia for all their tough talk can't challenge NATO. And they know that. That's why they thought they would get away with attacking Ukraine with no consequence.
