@JABelms Not everybody reacts in the same way to horror, and it has nothing to do with strength or courage. The gentlest man i knew had been a hero in WW2, taking part in the cockleshell raid. So not just a spontaneous and momentary act of heroism, but long days and nights necessitating nerves of steel.

Because stalin banned the Ukranian language and colonised the east and south of the country after he murdered 5m Ukrainians and deported millions more to his concentation camps. Yet every region still voted overwhelmingly to be part of independant Ukraine in 1991.
