  1.  @XTRLFX  you cant build a car at 1800 lbs anymore due to crash regulations. my prius c was 2500. the new prius is 3100. they get 56mpg weighing much more than the honda so theyre actually more efficient

  5.  @evolv.e  the tesla model s is far from affordable. the sticker price alone is twice as much as the complete ownership price including gas of a prius

  6.  @GoldenCroc  ya the corolla is better in every way and considering it's 1/8th the cost you can afford to burn a bit more gas. cost of ownership is the real metric. if youre that worried about fuel consumption, ride a bicycle

  9.  @XTRLFX  the new hybrid has improved safety standards that have nearly doubled the weight of the car. despite that it uses nearly the same amount of gas meaning it is more efficient and safer
