"It almost sounds like it's designed to persuade Republicans to go along with more gun control" So she acknowledges that that is the reasonable conclusion as a logical reaction to these occurrences, but still rejects it. There's no "persuading" Republicans though, as seen here they are stubborn as an ox and immune to new input/information and act against their own self-interest in order to not ever have to confront their being wrong or feel icky remorse about the real consequences of their imaginary and totally arbitrary dogma
