It's so horrifying that it could happen, that they made a fictional comedy about it, due to it apparently not being a possibility in reality and instantly hitting a brick wall in the nonfiction attempt. Seems like it's so unserious and not the end of the world either way, so you might as well just give trans people their fucking rights instead of dragging your feet kicking and screaming being a dick about it. They choose the dumbest hills to die on, this shit doesn't even affect them, and normally conservatives don't care about any issues that affect people other than their own damn selves, so why here? Oh, I guess they ARE affected, in the sense that their feelings of moral superiority are hurt by not being allowed moral deference to poke their noses into other people's lives
