When someone winds up in trouble, there should be at least some level of analysis and reflection from the person in question on how it is that they got there, or else no lessons will be learned and her pathological need to seek out abusers will continue

Emma seeming a little too defensive there on being introduced to the notion that women, too, have a responsibility to be discerning of the red flags of who they get married to, which is a common sense attitude to both the male and female sides of the spectrum. Scammers and con artists are criminals that should be combatted, they are the ones who've committed the crime and not those who were scammed, but the fact that they exist ubiquitously nonetheless means we have to do some due diligence ourselves in not getting scammed, and conservatism is the scammer industry of the world of politics
