The problem is that Ted Cruz is not a good faith actor and is more likely than not using this as a way to bolster his image after his NRA-paid policy positions just got a whole bunch of children killed. He's just a clout chaser and a Twitter troll in his own right, so it's funny seeing Asmon literally reading off of Ted's Twitter while saying "spend a little more time in the real world and not on Twitter". Ted Cruz is among the last people in this country who would do anything about this issue since he is completely biased in favor of unregulated capitalist exploitation. Whatever Asmon says to him, Ted will most likely brush off as "the free market tho" and other cheap platitudes and empty words. It's pretty naive to think Ted Cruz will embrace what has thus far been a progressive European policy AKA "big guvuhment" getting in the way of business. But sure, talk to him, just have low expectations. It's not completely devoid of risk though, Asmon, if unprepared, could look like a whiny loser like that r/antiwork guy that appeared on Fox News recently, so in that case there actually could be something to lose. Remember, like Fox News, Ted Cruz is not a good faith actor and has a slant that must be affirmed regardless of what anyone else has to say, he will downplay the concerns of anyone that has anything to say against the establishment he is a part of.

He's a spineless fake with terrible policy that gets people killed, tried to overthrow the 2020 election even AFTER the January 6th riots, even conservatives can see the underlying cowardice of his behavior, (waffling on whether or not they were domestic terrorists, called out to his face by Tucker Carlson) so if you think people hate him just because he's a Republican you're a joke. Look at all the other Republicans who don't have quite the shit reputation he has. Ted Cruz has made a career out of being a scumbag, he is the Hillary Clinton of the right and that's why Trump leapt right over him during the 2016 primaries, he made a complete mockery of him and Ted had no choice but to pathetically lick his boots
