People like Maya and Rowling believe gender isn't real, and this denies the fundamental existences trans people have and that outward biology defines your inner world (which is precisely the logic that biologically based misogyny operates by). Sex reductionism and biological essentialism is what they fight against, but then also use themselves... Imagine calling someone who is black that there is no racism because race isn't real. Yeah, well even if it isn't, they are still being discriminated against as if it were, the effects are real. Rowling hates bigotry more than anything, and then also is one of the biggest bigots there is in regards to another group of people who happens to be a way smaller minority than women are. She's thinking herself a hero for protecting over half the human population who need not much protection and have their own huge voice enthusiastically backed by the establishment, meanwhile looking the other way/contributing to the villainy done to the weaker, smaller, more voiceless group. That's no hero. Long story short, the counter to "sex is real" is to say GENDER IS REAL
