@scothf1273 Ukraine was already not joining NATO and wouldn't have been allowed in even if it tried, and Russia did what they did anyway (violating their own agreements with Ukraine). Meanwhile, Ukraine still is a non-NATO ally of America and Europe, so we do have obligations to help them at least somewhat, and it is better than sending our own troops there anyway

@cantrelljohansen2493 Giving Ukraine weapons is how we avoid Americans fighting in Ukraine. Ukrainians are doing it so we don't have to, and they are doing it effectively

Ukraine was not and still is not affiliated with NATO. As for all the other countries, they have every right to join NATO if they feel threatened by Russia, which they have every reason to be considering what just happened to Ukraine. Russia doesn't have a say in other countries' defense agreements, they don't need to ask for Russia for permission, they are independent adults, not children who need to defer to the judgment of a country that acts more like a gas station criminal syndicate than a country
