  3. Imagine trying to make your country #1 in the world when apathy is the primary emotion driving the culture. Apathy makes people weak. You cannot be a world leader with weak people. What makes people strong is the flame in their hearts, and the Russian government does everything it can to snuff that flame out of its people, and out of the people beyond its borders in Ukraine. The Russian government will never be in a position of strength since all it does is make everything within and without weaker. Other countries will be repulsed by this Russian vision of the world and just flock to those that give them strength instead. Russia is NATO's best ally, because Russia drives so many new wannabe recruits to NATO, by showing them an alternative that is absolutely dreadful to all involved. All of Russia's neighbors absolutely detest having Russia as their neighbor, and that really should say it all about what they have to offer to the world

Russia's control might be too big to topple by a popular revolution, but maybe little Belarus's sham elections can be eventually combatted by the people and become what Taiwan is to China; keep the Russian culture, but without all the corrupt repressive bullshit that holds it back from competing in the modern world
