Really sad that a scientist is resorting to all this apologism and diversion from the fact that religious thought is fundamentally unscientific and anti-intellectual and their arguments are emotionally-based and not fact-based. If you don't believe in a god, you're an atheist. If you're an agnostic, you're an atheist. Just because some scientists that made contributions happened to be Christians, doesn't clean up Christianity's record of being mostly anti-science. A broken clock strikes twice a day. You should still fix your clock. Why be right less than 100% of the time? That's the whole point of science, to not be satisfied with ignorance and half-baked explanations.

As for this whole thread, we are comparing a scientist to a YouTuber... why? When Neil is talking about "those other atheists", he means people like Richard Dawkins, not guys on YouTube. Richard Dawkins is more the face of atheism than The Amazing Atheist is.

  7. Thinking "differently" in some cases is wishful thinking not at all based in reality, and there's nothing exactly respectable about delusions and cheap faith-based claims. Just because a thought is different, doesn't mean it has merit. White supremacists think differently too! Let's respect their views!
