  1. I can't believe Visio did not put ANY Renault in his video. Louis Renault invented the turbo and made its first use on airplanes. By the 70s they revolutionised Formula 1 with their 1.5L V6 Turbo and because of that, THEIR ENTIRE line-up had a turbo engine as an option: R5 Alpine Turbo, R5 GT turbo, R9 and R11 Turbo, R18 Turbo, R21 2 L. Turbo, R25 V6 Turbo, Alpine V6 turbo, etc. Except for that and the Buick, great video man.

  2. Alain David true the turbocharger itself was invented by the Swiss guy, Louis Renault actually worked on the principle of forced induction but not its application using the exhaust. Yes he also forgot all the engines from the glory days of Japanese engineering : all those DOHC multivalve turbo engines were really some of the best performing engines in the 80s' to late 90s. Renault revealed the R5 Turbo at the 1978 Paris Auto Show

  3. CaptHollister you don't seem smart. I'm first talking about the history of Renault and the turbo itself in racing. The R5 Turbo started manufacturing before the Honda which is the first car of that list... At this point, Renault started offering a turbo on all of their car, no exception. So what about that ?

  4. Alain David wow. I'm impressed by such researchs. There is much more then that, I'm personally talking about Renault because as a French this is what the first turbo cars are for me, but for sure there is the 745i, Alpina also I would say, Mitsubishi and other Japanese manufacturer, and I didn't even knew Alfa worked on the turbo that early. I personally think Visio just googled "First turbo cars" on Internet as Wikipedia pages list almost the exact same list as his. No issues about that, searching, editing and uploading takes a lot of time and Wikipedia is a reliable site most of the time.

  7. CaptHollister sorry about the insult, the fact that you use caps when saying that this video was dedicated to production cars even thought I gave a list of Renault production cars made me angry. Yes the Honda was the first K car but this video isn't dedicated to them as far as I know. Also my formula 1 story was just to relate Renault's history and why every Renault cars from this era had turbo engines (did you read it?). I still think Renault had his role in the developpement of the turbo, and made available more to the people as Turbo were a high thing, but them put in smaller cheaper cars.
