  2. Pretty much just remember that everyone tries to act like the last year of the man's life makes him Oskar Schindler. It does not. More to a military point. He was shoe shopping for his wife when we hit the beaches. 24 hours of being there to personally direct a repulsion might have changed the course of history. And his genius in the desert is now hotly debated as being more of a British spy network he called his "little fingers" than actual military acumen.

  3. Teaching this is as dangerous as teaching the north was good during the Civil War and the south was bad. He has been exonerated by most major historians studying this as not having been involved and he was an ardent nazi until about the last year of his life when he was unable to convince hitler to give up land and counter attack and also to sue for conditional surrender when that wouldve been an option. He was murdered for being accused of being a part of an assassination plot. Historians widely believe it was one of his lieutenants if anybody was involved at all.

  5. Also we need to take Winston churchill with a grain of salt here. He tended to be attracted to bad boys and would go to great lengths to emulate them. One of these was al capone. Hence his famous picture holding the Tommy gun. Winston had almost developed this fetish of rommel as had Montgomery. Brits were starting to tell each other they had rommeled something when done well. He was pedastoled by churchill probably improperly. But again. He would've pardoned capone if given the chance. Its like the white kid who wants to be from the projects and be a rapper.
