  1. A lot of folks believe in this Churchillian rhetoric that "America will do the right thing after it has exhausted all other options" That's just not true. In fact there is plenty of evidence to the opposite. "America will continue to do the wrong thing until a couple of planes hit New York or Pearl harbour then America will be forced to do the right thing due to those circumstances" and then they'll drop nukes and write revisionist history on how they were right all along. Most people cannot see a new situation until it hits them. (Christopher Hitchens) America is the perfect example of it.
