I think Brazil is going to have a relationship with the United States much like the Anglo Portugese alliance.(It might even become like a vassal state). Lula or Bolsanaro will not matter in the long term, the geopolitical realities will shape this relationship. I don't think China is going to have significant influence over them but they are in BRICS. So, they will have a relationship with China nonetheless. American Empire will have a relationship with the Brazil just like the way Portugal was always somewhat of an ally of the British Empire. The British Empire had never had great relationship with the Spanish, French, German, Italian or the Russians. The only ones they used to have some good relationship is with Portugal and Dutch. Other wise they generally hate continental Europe. America has completely morphed into a modern day version of the British Empire. The rest of the south American countries will continue to have bad relationships with United States and despise America because of it's constance interference in their domestic politics.

Imperial Germany, Imperial Japan, Soviet union, Britian Empire all have met the same fate. China is no match for the American Empire. China was empowered by America to drive a wedge between Soviet Russia and China. That didn't happen. Instead China has become the largest economy in the world and is threatening to replace America as the leading hegemon of the world. Obviously empowering China was a mistake. The same way it was a mistake to empower Japan during the Russo Japanese war. The Japanese were already on a dark path and empowering the Japan backfired on the USA. The Chinese ambitions seem to have grown, thier appetite seems to have no limits, the more they are allowed to get away with, the more they test the limits of what they can get away with. China owes "it's whole success story" to a series of poor foreign policy decision by America (Henry Kissinger) which is to involve China in WTO and shift evey job from Detroit to Shanghai, Apparently the wonders of capitalism was supposed to make China more "democratic" nither did that happen nor did it drive a wedge between Soviet Russia and China. It has created a more powerful China and Russia alliance. Which is extremely hard to counter for the west. The name of the game is Capitalism. who knew China is going to be so good at it?
