  1. Germany has Adidas and Puma. US has Nike, Under Armour, Reebok, Champion and New Balance. It's a luxury for them to sell in the American market.

  3. ​ @malawi44  in Europe they were able to monopolise because...there is no competition... Umbro, slazenger, Kappa and Lacoste were no match to German made sports good. Generally you are talking about Europeans liking football and "Europe made things" like European cars. The same principle applies here, German made goods get a lot of leverage in Germany because of protectionism. (Not that I don't agree with the protectionism policies of Germany also I'm not saying the German sports products are not good) but there are certain structural ways Germany has kept it's market protectionist as well as competitive. (Somewhat like Bundesliga football) The product is good, the competition is okay, German players perform on the international stage wearing Adidas but...in America you can sell your goods for a premium.... The same thing is done by China.
