Unless you are caping for Bobby Fischer it's a pretty simple argument against him that he's not the best player of all time and not even in the top 3 chess players.

A) Case for Messi 1) Messi won everything at Barcelona FC 2) more trophies including sixtuple 3) arguably in the best team of all time 4) Better dribbler, better passer, better playmaker, great on the ball, creates goals out of nothing also scores and is a great clutch player. 5) it's like Ball is glued to his body it never leaves him only Maradona and Ronaldo Nazario have given you this feeling, he makes it look effortless 6) Humble player liked by all teammates and helped spread the game 7) He gets kicked he gets fouled on he never fakes his injury or dives 8) he won the world cup and copa America with Argentina B) Case for Ronaldo 1) great off the ball and great on the ball 2) perfect player right foot, left foot, header, scores, assist, fitness, rarely misses a game, great goal scorer, great dribbler, great at taking penalty, Great clutch player. 3) Good looking, marketable athlete help spread the game 4) Cristiano Ronaldo won at four different teams and has won everything in Football 5) He won Euro with Portugal (he got injured and sidelined but showed leadership in motivating players) Euro is tough championship to win. Anyone who won that trophy that way should be absolutely ashamed of himself. The same thing happened against PSG vs Barcelona. 3) Barca was paying off referees 4) Messi didn't win with other teams like Ronaldo (he won with PSG but the league is not that good) 5) People don't know this but, Barcelona had a transfer ban and they kept on buying players somehow the larger view is that UEFA wanted FC Barcelona and Messi to win because they like the imagery and marketing of it, so they let FC Barcelona keep getting away with it (financial fair play rules) 6) Messi has missed penalties (but off late Ronaldo has also missed key penalties) but still Ronaldo is a better at penalty than Messi
