People in the media tend to be ideologues or idealist and Leftist, and they have a picture in mind whom they like to see win and lead the country, someone whom they can rally around and they can be court jesters to. It's almost like fantasy of a high school girl who is looking for her "Prince Charming". Donald Trump breaks that picture and it upsets the left wing world view. He breaks that picture and he takes away thier dream and they get mad and vicious about it.
