  2. I think we cut too much slack, to the Americans when we say that somehow they are the victim in this relationship with Israel and at times too much is made of AIPAC. America has been doing "America Things" way before AIPAC, Jews or Israel were a thing. (Native Americans, Monroe doctrine etc etc) After the holocaust and subsequent attack on Israel by Arab states. There was some sympathy for the Jewish state. America has used Israel and the Jewish story to declare itself as a "Leader of the free world" and wash America' image that Hitler was actually impressed with America for what they did to the Natives in America. They have used Israel for thier advantage to make it a global lieutenant of America in the Middle East. (Obviously there is an evangelist cause to it as well) Israel also uses America for it's own survival as well. America has three global lieutenants around the world 1) UK in Europe 2) Israel in Middle East 3) Japan in Asia But they are also smart and cunning enough to have a backup, so...they have 1) Germany in Europe 2) Qatar in Middle East 3) South Korea in Asia Now that there is little sympathy for whatever Israel is doing and there are certain other options who have provided a military base in the middle east along with access to Oil and Natural Gas (Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE) America can finally ditch the Israelis because they come with too much baggage and harm America' s international reputation. The only reason why they have not been able to do it is, the Republicans and the Evangelist voter base in America which is too strong. America is largely a Right wing, Nationalistic, Capitalistic, Christian, conservative country.
