  1. Nither is India being "smart", nor is America being "weak". India looks after it's intrests just like America looks after it's intrest (Despite what Donald Trump says). What do you think American's relationship with Saudi Arabia and Qatar is? It's about looking after American intrest in Oil from Saudi Arabia and Natural Gas from Qatar. It keeps the petro dollar as global reseve currency (It's not about Democracy or LGBTQ rights). Obviously, When India or any other country looks after its own interest then Americans tells you it's against the "rules based international order" And, when America looks after it's intrest, they tell you it's about democracy or peace through strength or some other advertising jingle they've cooked up. India signed a civil nuclear deal with America in 2008, A deal which is should have help to provide electricity to every household. Like most deals with America, that deal went nowhere. Not a single kilo watt electricity has been produced by it. India "trusts" America as much America "trusts" India. I think Donald Trump' view on German defence spending was right. But in the same token it was also by design that they didn't let Germany spend much on defence because of the ambitions of imperial Germany. It's understandable why they did that. America's sphere of influence is limited to G7 countries. Even the Eastern European countries don't listen to America, because geography is reality and thier own history dictates thier politics , right now immigration is dictating thier policy which is a present political reality in Europe.
