  1. I grew up in Australia 8n the fifties and sixties, when each room of the home was painted a different pastel colour. My room was baby pink and light grey, the living room was pale green with embossed wallpaper that had golden highlights, and the kitchen dining area was light blue and white. New homes are done in neutral tones so that people can have a blank canvas if they want to add their own colour palette.
